Barkertown Farms' Sweet Family Tradition Keeps Maple Syrup Flowing
Something sweet is happening across Livingston County! The taps go in mid-winter and the sap flows every maple syrup season from February to March.
For many of our local maple farms, this is more than a season. It’s a tradition rooted in family, hard work, and love of the land.
“The Mann family has been making syrup for over thirty years. In the early days, we had a one-room sugar shack, a few buckets, and a team of horses to gather the sap. While our operation has grown over the years, we still put the same amount of care into every single batch we produce.”
Barkertown Farms is just one of the many incredible farms here in Livingston County carrying on this sweet tradition. There’s nothing quite like local maple syrup made right in our own backyard.
