Where do you live?
Dansville, New York
What brought you to LivCo?
After being raised in Dansville, I attended SUNY Geneseo then off to Rochester for 25 years in Information Technology. I briefly lived in Massachusetts’ Pioneer Valley, working as an energy co-op financial manager that operated a biodiesel plant and helped residents with energy efficiency. In 2019 I returned to Livingston County with my partner Sonni and found it to be a much different place than I left thirty years earlier! Many more hiking opportunities, coffee shops, breweries, food options and friendly faces have made our transition back much more enjoyable.
What do you primarily work on in the office?
I’m working with Kelly on tourism activities, Louise with Downtown projects, and Maureen & Bill with project management and office operations.
Favorite LivCo Spot:
The east side of Letchworth State Park - called the Rustic Side by park employees, it is my favorite place for a woodland escape. Experiencing the incredible beauty of three major waterfalls and miles of hiking trails never gets old.
Favorite LivCo Meal:
Food wise it’s a tie between an Aunt Cookies toasted sub in Geneseo (an alumni destination!) and chicken wings from Jack’s Place in Dansville. For a perfect espresso I’ll head to Cosmic Charlies.
Favorite LivCo Event:
Fall in Livingston County! Leaves turning yellow and red and crunching underfoot, fresh apple cider, pumpkin carving and pies baking, garden bounties being harvested, and inhaling the scent of autumn, it is truly a magical time of year.
How do you invest in LivCo?
I not only work for Economic Development, but also own Trail Otter, a hiking and backpacking guide service specializing in providing experiences on LivCo’s east side of The Grand Canyon of the East - Letchworth State Park. When Sonni & I started the business, we wanted to provide healthy activities to both tourist and locals year-round. It has been so rewarding meeting the multitudes of hikers who have come with us to enjoy nature at its finest!
